As everyone who is going through the CIC application process knows, the page in your MyCIC account that is most dear you to at the time, is the one with all the application details, since it (usually) gives some sort indication as to where you currently are in the process.
For example, your details section could say, “Medical Passed”, “Biometrics Completed” or the most famous “We are processing your background details…”
But……. did you know that once you have landed in Canada and your PR card application is in process, that details section changes?
Below is what your application details section will look like once you are a landed permanent resident.
Looking through this, I can see that our background check was completed on November 8, 2018 (the day we received the RPRF request), and the eligibility review was completed on November 25, 2018 (the day I received a ghost update). So technically, our application was approved on that day, but we only received the PPR email on January 14, 2019 – 50 days later.
I wish these details were available to us before – it probably would have saved us (well, me) a lot of headaches.
Still, it’s nice to have a summary after the fact. And, as I said before, our application did get processed quite quickly. Even with all the delays and slow processing, we received our PR visas in just over 4 and a half months.
